  • @zo219 I've heard that Leon is very shy and elusive. He always seems to hanging around alot of instruments and keyboards. But hopefully his voice was loud and clear. I'm glad you went though. His health has never been great, who knows how much longer he'll be with us. All us old-timers are getting on in years. LOL Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me. I truly love Leon Russell and always have from when I was 15 in the 60s and first got turned on to him.

  • @55kudu The spotlight literally could not find Leon at the concert, things were in such confusion—and that was also one super-shy, super-talented man.

  • divine

  • Together George Harrison and Leon Russell sang it at "The Concert For Bangladesh" in 1971, the first charity concert. When Leon chimes in the audience reaction to him is chilling, our newly discovered superstar at the time. Harrison says many people have heard him but not seen him at the beginning of this song I believe, or one of the others. What a concert to have seen with Clapton, Dylan, two Beatles and the mighty Leon! Truly an American original beloved around the globe. God Bless you Leon!

  • Claude Russell Bridges, born April 2, 1942, transcended musical styles playing with Doris Day and Frank Sinatra to Elton John and George Harrison, as well as The Byrds, The Band and The Stones! George Harrison's "Beware Of Darkness" from his epic 3-LP set, "All Things Must pass" from 1970. Leon covered it on his second "solo" album (The one next to the lava lamps) entitled "Leon Russell and The Shelter People" released in 1971. It closed the album on side two. Truly a great album... go find it!
