Yes, I have read the book, eons ago ... and yes, if I were comparing it to the book, no, it wouldn't be as good as the book. But I'm looking at it as a stand-alone entity! Seriously, when has any movie based on a Stephen King book been any fucking good when compared to the actual book itself?

Oh god, i love al those movies. I am a fan from the grudge, i have 1, 2 and 3. The ring is to great only the first is not the best, the second well. The shinging, i have only read the book so. The exorcist, my father buys movies for me so, i think i gonna ask it from him. It seems like a good movie. Rosemarys baby, i WANT to see that movie, it looks so great!!! This becomes to long but all those movies where and are great.

I really enjoyed this video. Great acting and filming. Also content. Makes a person think about there all time favorite or scariest movie. I love Beetle juice a favorite. The scariest is Bela lugosi dracula, saw it on son of Chiller.  thought it was true. I was a little kid about 5 or 6. My grandpa said it wasn't real but I was convinced. Still makes me nervous. If you get a chance check out the Bela lugosi website so cool.

Being a rather sensitive person, I find horror films disturbing and have spent many sleepless nights after watching them. I have seen all of the films that you listed and agree that they are classics. I for myself would also include the movie Jane Eyre (sorry about the spelling).....Hauntingly scary to me. Thanks for reminding us all about these classic scary films!

I did love The Shining, scared bejeebus out of me when I was little, but not nearly as much as the Exorcist. Everytime I walked into my room I thought Reagan was going to be laying there on my bed. I love vampire movies though. I enjoy the mental conflict some of them go through, or lack of it. Like Queen of the Damned has 'good' vampires and evil vampires. It's romantic and odd. Or 30 Days of Night, bar none the scariest vampire movie ever made has beastly vampires without one shred of remorse.

I have to agree with these - the latter of which, "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein", especially. Several things in this movie (and indeed, the book) strike a chord.

And how could you not love a line like, "I have love in me, the likes of which you can scarcely imagine. And rage, the likes of which you cannot believe. And if I cannot satisfy one, I will indulge the other.?
