The President Washington CB base radio has one of the quietest receivers ever made. I love this old radio. 120 channels (40 AM, 40 Upper Sideband and 40 Lower Sideband)
@855h0le Sir a 100% is as far as you can! A 1005 is the top end! 50% is half and 100% is a whole! If you add 50% more to a full glass which is a 100% full the you are NOT adding 50%
How can something be 140% when 100% is all you can get?
@KC8YOQ On 4 differnt Audio meters- I made OVER 100% modulation, When the audio gets sorta "basey"- youCAN go over 100% with NO distortion. When I would say 10/4 and I would see the meter jack 100-110% hard. When id REALLY talk- id hit upwards OVEr 130% and NOBODy misunderstood what I said. Not all configurations can do over 100% Modulation without issues. When I do my radios I usually go OVER the red line on the audio meter.Ok- just wanted to clarify that nad not tell you off in sorts.
@KC8YOQ@KC8YOQ I stand to correct you. (respectively) of course. Modulation can and DOES indeed go over 100% Modulation.-Ever been to a Radio Braodcast Station or Recording Studio? Im sure you'vwe heard the nice , loud, crisp audio and when they go "too high" they get mumbled like? Thats known as Over-Modulation. (over 100%) Then you have those on Channel 11 11 Meter- thats so LOUD and Clear you can hear them 30-50 kilocycles away. Thats what my Washington did!
@david22657 usually (trying to rememebr 15 years ago) in those radios. A simple transistor known as the Final. (one of them) WIll blow and dont 4get you may need to have a microhone in it to hear, Also is it the right mic? Does the mic work or i mean are you sure the wires are good? That Final is only $8 btw*

That was my 1st Base Radio. I did some Audio Mod. The Meter read 140% (No Distortion) I was known as the "Audio Dunker". I had a 10KC Switch & 40+/-
With D104 and Golden Eagle 150 Watt Base Linear.. I traded it for a single shot shotgun. SHould of kept the Radio
