  • Man, this is kid is great! The drummer needed to pull back in general and WAY back on the ride, he's steppin' all over the kid's solo. It's annoying. His comping is OK, his time is good, but he's WAY TOO LOUD. He's like a wave washing over everyone.

  • Thanks for the compliments. Actually the drummer was great and not too loud, but our recording was primitive and lousy :(

  • Not to be argumentative, and again, what the drummer is doing sounds fine, it's just that I can hear and see his right hand, he is playing the ride too heavy. You should always lighten up and pull back after the head, when someone is soloing. I play drums in a jazz band and I always drop my sticking down to about an inch or so when people solo. You just need nuiance and volume control.
