I installed TileProxy and went for an aerial spin around the 'L52 Oceano' airport. I pulled some hillbilly maneuver to bleed altitude but the landing was still fast. You can tell that satellite images are being used for the tiles as the runway directions don't exactly match up—both RWY 29s are visible. (This might not indicate a Flight Sim inaccuracy, though; simply that the satellite image was captured at an angle.) Still, already at 2000 feet, it's as if you're really flying over the area.
Remarkably, I was getting upwards of 80 FPS. Recording with FRAPS at 60 FPS resulted in stuttering with views other than VC and Tower. I attribute this to negative interaction between Fraps and TileProxy.
