I used to listen to Mark Ross when he had a public radio show in Missoula Montana in the early to mid 1980's. A couple years ago I sent him a bunch of audio tapes I'd made of some of those shows. Classic stuff!
Wow! This is fantastic for so many reasons -- Kate Wolf's warmth and beauty, the young Mark Ross frailing the banjo, possibly the world's only cover of Bob Dylan's "Ride, Willie, Ride," hearing someone who is proud of his Queens origins.... Shall I go on?
Love this video. The Banjo sounds so happy and sweet, but especially, I enjoy the conversation between Kate and Mark. It gives us a chance to see her warm personality! : )
The song is "Ride, Willie, Ride," lyrics by Bob Dylan set to the tune of the traditional Irish outlaw ballad "Brennan on the Moor."
