the reason i started surfing was becasue of andy irons, my first wave and fun i got from it. so me from all people would know how he died. he quit the puerto tico comp because of a sicknes (dangue fever) he got while in bali, he tried to travel home to his wife but was refused a seat on the plane because of his sickness. he checked into a hotel room for the night and the next morning was found dead on his hotel room floor.

I never knew of Andy Irons; just kind of stumbled unto this segment.

Andy appeared to have lived a full life in such a short time.

I'm 48 years old, and not really have I lived any kind of life as of yet.

They say only the good die young, he seemed like a great young man. So sad.

Pine Trees Surf break Memorial Park dedicated to Thee Andy Irons would be helpful to the peoples of KauAI Hawaii. Andy Irons has inspired many his faith hopes and love took him a long way in the ASP he will be memorialized at the 28th Vans Triple Crown of Surfing on Oahu Hawaii.
