Freddy Kempff, he is not related to Wilhelm Kempff right?

This piece has been my favorite Beethoven piece since I was about 3 or 4 years old. It's good to hear it again.

@col1211 This movement is indeed in Ab major, but the sonata as a whole is harmonically rooted in C minor.

Bravo!!!! A esto se le llama tocar con sentimiento!

Freddy Kempf delivers one of the most incredible expressions of Beethoven's Pathetique (2nd movement) that I have ever heard!

Unfortunately not. I am impressed with Pathetique, and found Freddy's play sounds best to me. I might look into other music,, though.

Thank you for this video clip. I have just received CDs of Freddy's Pathetique and Wilhelm Kenpff's Pathetique. It is quite interesting to compare two performance.
Freddy's performance makes me feel I can see the brighter future beyond sorrow. Beautiful music is beatifully played. Yes, it makes me feel I can overcome this deep sorrow... soon.
Thank you!
