An attempt to show the history of the two different holidays. And how One has adapted the other's traditions. How Christians have treated Pagans, and motivation for it to stop.
oh, give it a rest! christians and the nordic peoples in the dark ages were barbaric savages. so the church incorporated pagan rites into their celebrations....big deal! christmas is supposed to be fun!
All traditions are a melding of many cultural influences. Including the modern celebration of yule. Christians and non-Christians incorporate ideas from many times, places, cultures, and religions. There's no need to speak out against anyone's holidays.
nice video... but. maybe instead of lowering to the level of not even a half. of all christians why dont you make some videos of how we can live in harmony. we have good traditions, nothing wrong with them adopting any. I think we should focus on the positive more than negative guys :/
Good message. So few people know that almost everything about christmas was taken from other Solstice traditions.
The only thing that bothers me about the video is that the text and spoken parts don't match so the viewer/listener is forced to process either the audio or visual, but not both.
As an atheist with european ancestry I can ligitimately celebrate Yule as a historical tradition, enjoy tree's, lights & feasts with out "selling my soul"... besides isn't this time of year also about family gathering and a time to reconnect with people we care about?
I love Yule.
