  • It is a great school, indeed.

  • @XxSilentD3athxX

What? a hazing of sorts? Can't be any worse than initiation at an AXP frat house. Trust me on that one.

  • @dgrills

Lol. 30 minutes? Is that it? I already live in Northern N.Y state (looking to transfer to Mines for the education) where the nearest..umm..ANYTHING is at least 30 minutes away. From what you say here, it will be no different for me out there...except better skiing. And education...there's that too.

  • In defense of Golden, there is a LOT to do if you like the outdoors. Clubs and bars, not so much. But kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing -- tons. There's skiing not too far away, too. But, yes, the workload is heavy and the students are serious. If partying is your main goal, try CU up the road. (Full disclosure: I teach at Mines on occasion.)

  • Gotta love that guy who says "it's nice..."

  • dgrills is completely right, after freshman year, your "fun things to do" are classes, and even more classes

  • wow, pansy, it wasn't that bad

  • lol if you walk up to the big M and its ur first year there u are screwed. It like D day but the bullets explode with paint and i pray u are one of the lucky ones that makes it up without dying.....lol god that was crazy

  • darkfranchise, my mum went to school of mines and her best friend's name was Bob, he was apparently the most intelligent person that had ever gone to mines. Are we talking about the same bobs?

  • Alright, so I'm a senior at mines. If you're considering it, don't watch this crap, you will not have fun if you come here, you'll have one hell of an education though. Oh and that part about there being lots to do in Golden, there are 3 bars, and anything good in Denver is like 30 minutes away. Plus, you'll likely never leave your room after freshman year.
