  • RIP.

  • You are correct, I had just seen the actual video of it a few days ago. The plane did hit the heli from behind which means clearly the pilots of the plane were not paying attention.

  • It's obvious the fixed wing pilot was not very familiar with the corridor or the corridor frequency because he never announced his presence and was still climbing when he struck the helicopter from behind and below. Therefore, the fixed wing pilot was clearly at fault and the NTSB report will say so.

  • He had entered the VFR corridor announced his presence, type of aircraft, altitude, air speed and direction he was traveling over the corridor frequency. The fixed wing pilot entered the corridor while climbing but never announced his altitude, speed, type of aircraft and direction he was traveling. This VFR corridor has an altitude limit of between 500 and 1000 ft AGL . Remember, VFR not only means see and avoid, it also means maintain adequate space from other aircraft.

  • Not so! The heli pilot had entered the corridor airspace and switched his radio over to the corridor frequency. Because the planes pilots struck the helicopter from behind and below the helicopter there is no way the helicopter pilot could have even seen the fixed wing aircraft. Helicopters don't have rear view mirrors no do the pilots have eyes in the back of their heads. The helicopter pilot had done everything he was supposed to do.

  • Aircraft were Piper PA32 and Eurocopter AS 350.

  • If it was VFR it's just as much the helicopter pilots responsibility as the pilot of the plane. See and avoid.

  • School taught me that the driver of a plane or a helicopter is called a "Pilot." I think the people involved in the crash deserve the respect of a proper title.

  • hero? has he done anything good? Other by getting in office?name some things retard, obama is a fraud like bush
