5. Case histories can be used to diagnose the kind of personality that makes the corporation
an externality-creating machine. Externalities such as harm to employees through the use
of sweatshops: the exploitation of Third World countries' employees resulting in a huge
discrepancy of price versus cost. Other externalities such as pollution and adverse health
effects emerge. These include the genesis of the petrochemical industry and links to
cancer, birth defects and other toxic effects. Another externality is harm to the biosphere
or the environmental costs resulting from the way corporations operate, costs that will be
passed off to future generations. Have we created a doom machine?

Fuck, I just don't know how I can break out of this cycle. I still drink milk, I need to buy clothes (although not as excessively as others). When I graduate, I'll need to get a job and most likely employed in some manner by a corporation. I know I want to end this, but all I end up doing is contributing to everything I want to stop.

corporations just don't give a flying f.ck what they use to make their products, and how they get rid of it. All they care is how to make as much money as possible with little ethics or any morals whatsoever. it's sickening to the stomach.

Don't despair, friend. Reframe the question: "How can I break the cycle"?

And put your heart in finding the answer and it will come. Then you'll know what to do

I know but things are slowly getting better. People are tired of these greedy corporations who only harm us and the Earth.

Self reliance is the key to true freedom. 3D printers, robotics, renewable energy and the internet will make this possible I believe.

And that the problem, the biggest problem we have. There is almost (I repeat "almost") no alterative to the economic "system" that we have. There we have literary design this socity to result in our own downfall.
