Pardon me, I can't really tell the difference between this and the Teochew music that I usually come across. But it is still very nice.

It may sound rather similar to Teochew music because the Han music was adapted into Teochew music. Teochew Opera (music) is a collage of a few different opera forms from other states that were popular in Chao Shan area during the Qing Dynasty. Teochew music just continually cut and paste and improvise as the years go by into the music style it is today.

a couple more things... Waijiang is a few keys higher than Teochew... High A range I think.
Less instruments, some unique instruments, simpler music style and simpler playing techniques.

The name of this piece is called Nan Zheng Gong 南正宫. This form of music was popularized in Chao Zhou and Fu Jian, etc at the end of the Qing Dynasty, which followed the diaspora of Teochews and Hakkas into Singapore and Malaya since the 1920s.
