@JenniferDist But personal experience is not good evidence, as very skilled people can convince the average person that they have psychic abilities, magical abilities, and the like, when in reality they have no such abilities. The only thing that could ever truly establish the reality of psychic abilities is if such abilities were demonstrated during a carefully controlled experiment, or if a medium gave information (like explaining Fermat's lost proof) that couldn't have been known otherwise.

@JenniferDist Educated. Nice!

@ClamCrunchy I concur with you that evidence in this field is extremely difficult unless you yourself is the one being read & can personally substantiate the validity. For clarity purposes a Medium can speak with people who have crossed over, whereas a psychic cannot & can only predict future events. A Medium can utilize their past life connections to help predict future events. Most Mediums view "psychic" with a negative connotation, but the public is more familiar with "psychic".

@JenniferDist Maybe, but the fact that someone has a TV show in no way implies that they actually have psychic abilities or can talk to the dead. Magicians, faith-healers, scam artists of all kinds can put on great public shows and convince thousands that they're "the real deal". People like Dr. Phil, Montel Williams, and the like, put "psychics" on their shows because their sponsers love it and it boosts ratings. I don't claim psychic abilities are impossible; just that there isn't evidence.

@ClamCrunchy Doing it in the public eye reduces the likelihood of success if one was phony. Reputable people such as George, Dr. Phil etc. put their reputation at stake by hosting someone if they posses questionable credibility. Thus the substantiation on this person's talent by being a guest on a multitude of highly visible shows and succeeding at what they do.

@TrulyDu Totally agree. I see John as a "middle of the road" medium who has an incredible marketing team. If that's what he wants to do and how to do it then good for him. "Mediums" are becoming very mainstream and accepted in society. TV shows like "Medium" ending in it's 7th season recently highlight this. I work with people @ Rogers Durham & their highest rated show in it's 5th season is "Alva" who is a medium and a Dr. The world will always have skeptics. There's just less each year

@jenae2849 People don't want to watch. They want to jump at conclusions based on their own upbringing and at most their limited research. It's unfortunate. The most rounded people in this world are one's which embrace all religions and walks of life. So many are scared of what they can't explain themselves. Very unfortunate.
John Edward is truly amazing. He blesses so many people by hearing from their loved ones passed over. My husband and I watch his "Crossing over" shows and he truly has a gift. I would love to hav a reading done by hime one day. We Love you John Edward!!

My husand and I have had the opportunity to have been read by John Edward on multiple occasions through the past 7 years. Going to the first event "I knew that our son would come through" and my husband "the skeptic" feared I would be disappointed. He came through looking for his father and telling his father how proud he was of him for coming, knowing his skeptism but knew it was also his FAITH THAT BROUGHT HIM THERE. John's teachings have been a life changing factor in our lives.
