Is this real? Would a 50+ y/o woman really risk her health and the health of the fetus by becoming pregnant at such a late age? Keep in mind that she'll be about 70 when the child graduates high school. That means that when the kid is raising his/her own family, the mom will be about 80 -- an age of illness. Is it fair to subject the child to this added responsibility of caring for children and a parent (it's called "the sandwich generation"). It doesn't sound right to me.

And frankly, it's a bit selfish. I'm sure that there are many 5-10 y/o's that need adopting.

I don't know much more about this but I think that he was just a sperm donor (as a favor to the woman) with no legal parental obligations. Being friends, of course, will mean that there will still be a connection, but not as a real father.

This is ABC's World News Now (WNN) and they're famous for being funny and irreverent. And a few times, they have crossed the line (one anchor mistakenly giggled talking about the war). BUt overall, it is the best damn newscast in the Universe! There are lots of videos here on YouTube (search WNN). Anderson Cooper was a blast when he was an anchor. My favorite male anchors were Cooper, David Muir, Ron Corning and Ryan Owens. My favorite episode was their show during the NYC blackout.

ABC at 3a-4:30am.

  • Omg. This is ridiculous. "And frankly, it's a bit selfish. I'm sure that there are many 5-10 y/o's that need adopting." How can you call this man selfish? After all he's done for kids? He wants a kid of his own DNA, his own blood. Leave him the hell alone.

What's your problem? Learn to read and THINK before typing. Read the first paragraph and you'd see that I was talking about Jaymes Foster. Where did I mention Clay? It's called CONTEXT. I even talked about her age. I confirmed all this with my other posts.

    > He wants a kid of his own DNA

So? Do it with someone younger and less risky. Seriously read CAREFULLY and THINK before typing.

  • how do you know? and why dont you try to explain so peope will listen to you?

Maybe no one is listening to you because you're a joke. You started off calling everyone an idiot. Then you make meaningless statements. Then you compare Brianna's statement with yours, which is logically wrong. If you want to be listened to an respect, try growing. The fact that all your comments have so many THUMBS DOWN tells you what people think of you.

  • Who cares about an age difference if there is love and affection? No one would say a thing if the gender ages were reversed.

  • Well look at you all now, Clay has a wonderful baby boy and he loves him just as you would love your child....Leave the guy alone and let him live his life the way he wants to live it....Parker is a beautiful little boy 3 years old now...He is healthy and loved that's all that matters...Love you Clay!

  • The perfectly healthy adorable little guy is 3 years old on August 8 2011. Clay and Jaymes are great friends and excellent loving parents to Parker. The debate is way too late and a waste of your time and mine. Wish them well and move on.

  • It is dangerous for a 50-year-old woman to receive a first child ~.~

  • @gsh73la What are you talking about? No one ever said that all 80+ y/o's are ill, but statistics show that it's an age where people generally suffer illness. Ask any doctor. Try reading up on somehting called the "sandwich generation" instead of posting silly obvious things like not everyone at 80 is ill. Duh. That's like saying, not every drunk who drives gets into an accident. True but pointless. Think about it.

  • @gsh73la Misleading and irrelevant. This discussion is about a 50 y/o woman, not someone "well into their 40's." And rather than giving me vague "comments by docs" and telling me to do research, you really need to do your own research. Look up the risk of Down Syndrome in older pregnancies. Look up chromosomal damage. When did I say that the pregnancy will DEFINITELY be a problem? I said the risk is HIGHER. Sure she could be an outlier, but the fact remains: the risk is MUCH HIGHER at 50.

  • @gsh73la Calling people "ageist" for recognizing that the 70's if an age of health risk is to completely invalidate the field of risk assessment based on age. I guess we're "ageist" for not letting 14 y/os drive, or having lower health insurance premiums for people in their 20's vs. people in their 60's. I guess the whole point of age-control in medical research is "ageist." You want to focus on the minority ("plenty of fairly fit"). Sorry, that's not how health policy or statistics work.

  • @AskMeForMoreInfo There are plenty of fairly fit 70 year olds, I think you may have a bit of an ageist attitude.

  • @BriannaNoob Plenty of women have healthy babies at an older age, well into their 40s. Not every woman has the same health etc. If you do research, you'll come across comments by docs, such as, "50 is an arbitrary age (some are at risk at 38, some are healthy at 50 to have a baby)".... It should be seen individually because it is an individual matter.
