Spanish Castle Magic - The Jimi Hendrix Experience, drum cover from the classic Axis Bold As Love album. Using a modified kit from Addictive Drums that was modeled after Mitch Mitchell's sound from their ADpak-Retro.

Yeah, hmmmm, dig this...
Now I immediatly see that Mitchell used the same pattern only slowed down, or a minor variations of it on a couple other songs from Axis. Hmmm, dig it.

@rhythmantic. yeah the time is the killer, I have so many covers I want to do but its getting the time to do them, some are easy and some are a bit more challenging, but with work, DIY stuff and family commitments it all takes its toll, never mind I will just crack on with them as and when, lol.

Yet again- great cover! Do you think that Mitch may have used a ride instead of the hi hat during the verse?...just that he hardly ever seemed to use the hat for tapping out the 4's...Hey, I'm a guitarist so what the hell do I know?!

@jimistratuk Thanks a lot. Actually there aren't any cymbals in the verse, I threw in the hi-hat like Mitch uses on I Don't Live Today to lock in the time. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my stuff. A critique such as yours from such a fine musician as yourself and someone who knows Jimi's music is a very high compliment.

Great Cover Sal, not heard much of Hendrix other than his the more well know one’s, but you do a great cover of this one. Awesome sound on the kick.

@mrbeigan Thanks Dru, appreciate you checking it out. There are quite a few very good obscure songs from Axis Bold As Love album that I want to cover, but there is so much drumming going on that it will require time to learn the parts.

@robjking1 Thanks so much Rob, you are very kind. I took more time than usual to learn the drum parts of this song as Mitch's drumming is so integral to Jimi's music and wanted to do it right. Hope to cover more from this great classic album.
