Ringing at Bilsborrow, Lancashire, on the lovely Mears & Stainbank eight of 1947. The church is more modern than it looks, having been consecrated in 1927 and designed by Paley and Austin of Lancaster.

  • Your right these bells sound identical to mine in Cornwall......

  • @cornwall59 Well I thought they made for an interesting comparison, being the same kind of weight but by Mears & Stainbank. I really like these although they are a little oddstruck. Very musical eight.

  • Very nice looking place here. Very nice.

  • @pal05pmajor3 a lovely church and a super-duper set of bells. One of the best eights I've rung on in the northwest for sure - apparently Walton le Dale are even better!

  • these sound lovely - what are they like to ring

  • @KDowner94 I don't feel my camera has quite done them justice - they are excellent. To ring they are fine, there's a bit of oddstruckness but a couple of bells have recently been corrected so perhaps they are going through them all. I think a minor overhaul is planned soon.
