Test Pattern #59: Don't Go

August 1, 2008 was an historic day in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi adjourned the House for a 5-week vacation, but some members were not ready to leave. Republican members of the House remained on the floor to discuss domestic drilling and alternative energy solutions.

We cannot acheive energy independence if the House can't even bring the subject up for debate on the House floor. We need energy reform in America, and we need it now.

It's time to cancel vacations and come back to work.

I think you are missing the point here. If there is no debate, how can other options besides drilling be expressed? Drilling is only a temporary solution to this problem. Republicans are in agreement with looking at alternatives as well, and making a comprehensive plan including Nuclear power. Energy is the new currency of the world, and right now we are way behind, but sitting on the best land to become capitalistic again. The United States should be a leader, and now we are laughed at.

the republicans misguided policies are the reason we are in this predicament. democrats who went along with carl rove bate and switch politics will be held accountable.

as far as drilling is concerned, drill on the land you already have leased in the last 5 yrs or lose it to someone else who will. make it illegal for oil found in the US territories to be sold anywhere else but the US territories.

The congress should have done like the rest of America and taken a "staycation." I am tired of this democratic machine and I want a change. I want a change from high taxes and politicians who are into vacationing at my expense. I want drilling here and I want it now- actually I wanted it 15 years ago!

This is a well done video. It's a travesty that Ms Pelosi was appointed Speaker of the House. The District that she represents is about as Left as America gets, hardly a fair representation of the US.
