  • Absolutely the greatest rendition of this exquisite Bach cantata by this truly wonderfully sensitive to Bach in every way.: Michael Chance, Bach's master interpreter! He has been a 'favorite' with Gardiner since 1980 when he first became a singer in the Monterverdi Choir.

  • @32Styx he has the subtlety that a woman could not give

  • This is the MASTER BACH SINGER; the consummate countertenor! And this is a totally perfect rendition of one of Bach 's greatest works displayed beautifully during Gardiner's Bach Pilgrimage. Michael Chance nearing his 55th birthday has not lost any of his 'golden' voiced sounds. Hearing this , at least to me, is the closest I can get to paradise on this planet.

  • @32Styx really really!!!

  • Esta Area no puede ser Expresada con la Palabra,. la complacencia Provoca ravasa y sacude todo mi Ser, mi Humanidad, mi escencia. Dios nos dejo a Bach como un anticipo a lo que es el Cielo

  • What more can I say that has not been already said? I have in my library about one-hundred and eighty recordings in which he is either a soloist or a chorus member. HIs first recordings were as a chorus member in the King's College Choir in 1973, but his professional recordings do not begin until around 1982, and from there on it is history! So REALLY he is the greatest and is a legend and a model for all other falsettos who want to rise to the top of the heap.

  • Contented. Restful. Perfection.

  • Beautiful. Compelling. Michael Chance has THE Bach countertenor voice, for sure... warm tone, expressive.

  • Hello there, Mr. Styx. We are of one mind where Mr. Chance is concerned. It is always nice to see your lovely (and spot on!) comments about our fav blue-eyed ct. (This is a fun one to sing, too... all those wonderful German vowels.)
