This short video will show you the status of a few people living today with Spinal Cord Injuries. If you have a heart, it will touch you, along with giving you some insight into what it's like to live with spinal cord injuries. Not just for the injured person, but their entire family.

But there is more to this story! Progress is being made in Spinal Cord Research! And ultimately, this story could end happily - with a real treatment, and someday, a cure for spinal cord injury.

Having been thru just a minor injury almost a year ago, I have a new respect and understanding for people that have been hurt. I know what I went thru - and it's nothing compared to what many others go thru. Keep the faith!

Hard to comment - I'm not in anyone else's position. I don't fully know how difficult it is to be injured like that ... but I know it's much, much more than any of us can imagine.

Statistics can sometimes be misleading - for example, probably more people die in bathtubs that riding motorcycles.

Thanks for the message. We will all be trying co-ordinate info, with David really spearheading the effort. As soon as we have more info and video, we'll be publishing it online. Thanks again!

Thanks for the input. I think a lot of people that don't fully look into it, especially all the facets (like stem cell research), will only go by what they 'heard' or 'read' briefly. And I think for us (like me and you and David and others) our job is to maybe help educate. Thanks again!

oh come on. sure there are risks with everything even eating and drinking but riding a motorcycle much jumping a dirt bike exceeds any sort of risk that is reasonable. There is nothing wrong with doing these activities and no one deserves serious injury for it but the consequences should be weight more to most people who do them i think.

We all say, it will never happen to me.

As a racer myself, I knew all the dangers of racing motocross. But never ever thought that one day I would come off and brake my neck. I’m sure, Danny, David, myself and many others, not only riders but family as well, wish the neck brace had been invented along time ago.

SIT on a BIKE, NOT in a WHEELCHAIR. WEAR a NECK BRACE! It will Save your life.

Be lucky like the kid who walks away at the end.

I didn't know a flash bulb was part of the cause...I started racing my son at age 9. He started riding at 4. He is a rocket and uninjured. In 15 years 2 small injuries. In amateur racing in Calif he was 85% 1st-3rd in some150 races and we always raced GFI, CMA, CMC.. But what I've seen is too much. Even many guys like Ryan Morris, (sp) at age 12 had so many injuries and racing with a cast racing at age 13 or so. Seeing children die and friends paralysed at age 12 or so...But where's the race?!
