PSPscene - Spiderman: web of shadows - Sony PSP

This video shows a psp slim running "Spiderman: web of shadows" via a FS monitor for video output.


A decent little platform/beatem up game.

spiderman seems to spin his web on the psp's screen more than most other super hero's.
Some of the spiderman games have been rather bad, this one is simple but quite cute.

the graphics are well animated and offer fairly good detail but it's only a sidecrolling 2D affair, so it shouldn't tax the psp's hardware to much.

Sound is average with not much around to set the world on fire.

Controls are basic enough and offer good response times in the thickest part of the action.

What this spiderman game lacks is any real bite, it's an old theme and although it's nice enough to look at, sidescrolling beatem ups are old hat these days.

it's an old idea, thats done just about well enough to please some beatem up fans.

no. its's certainly not free roam, it's only a two dimensional scroller, like the old arcade gameplay of double dragon or streetfighter.

Anyways, I think it does suck, it would have been good if they at lEAST kept the original Web of Shadows story and bosses, but no, you just beat up thugs....;thats about it. You don't fight symbiote shocker, you fight the crappy original shocker, without symbiote, in a 2D platformer that is more suitable for the DS! >.>;;
