Welcome to french, disco, filter, sample house. I'm going to take you through some of the more popular french house tracks, and show you where they got their samples from.

Artists include:
Daft Punk
Le Knight Club
Thomas Bangalter
Modjo
Mylo
Stardust
Ourvais
Lifelike
Kris Menace
Justice
Louis La Roche
..and more.

At the end, I also try to re-create Daft Punk's 'One More Time' with the original samples. I do a pretty horrible job, but you'll get the jist.

Enjoy.

  • It's stuff like this that makes me want to start producing music. ^^

  • I love Daft Punk, but I think they sometimes just rip directly off other artist, instead of making new music. If your are going to sample a song, make it your own, don't remake it as a new version with a little improvement

  • whats the first song being played

  • @DaOddWickedOne

I have listened to everything, my favorites are mostly not hits, and mostly nice and clean sampling, High Life is awesome. Discovery is my favorite album from them, and I really want them to release something soon, or go on an tour

  • @Lollemaster Note: Sometimes. Have you seen/heard their High Life Sample? It's crazy

  • can you get in trouble selling a song that you used samples from another song?

  • Great video!

  • 1.55 Looks like Kanye!

How many points or any consistency have you made in your comments lately?

And just because you can produce, doesn't mean that you are a good artist, if these guys do like Breakbot or SebastiAn, I would respect their work a lot more, because it's not possible to hear where the samples are from at times. With Daft Punk, they'll take a big portion of a song, and just fix it a little(most times) and then place their name on it, but the music is still good, just more lazy and less thought

  • @dudewarp haha

  • @Lollemaster how many movies have you scored or albums have you made lately?
