Thanks for your comment.Bill was always aware of the high regard in which he was held but was a humble , modest man.He even specified he wanted a private ,quiet funeral but that was never going to happen! His coffin was led by a lone piper to the crematorium and many pipers were present ( pipers even came from France with the mayor of Colville-Montgomery)

@idleitis Thanks!
Nice to see the pipes, kilt, and your son's interview with piper Bill. I hope he knew the gratitude we have for him and his comrades for their brave efforts to liberate France from the tyranny of Hitler. By the way, the tune played in our tribute is "Lord Lovat's Lament" which was written to honor Simon Fraser, the 11th Lord Lovat.

Brilliant! Thank you for the tribute to Bill.I was fortunate enough to know him as I volunteer at Dawlish museum where his D-Day pipes are on display and he would come up every day to salute them and remember his lost friends and comrades.Check out piper bill millin interview 2008 (idleitis) an interview my son was grateful to Bill for agreeing to .He was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed.
