@Hilit that's the smartest comment i've read here. Daigo is popular because he can compete with the best in all SF games. That does not mean he is the best at each one of them. He's a top player in general. For example, we all know he was awesome in 3rd Strike, however, RX, Kokujin, and several other Japanese were superior to Daigo. in CVS2, D44 Bas was superior to Daigo. Most popular 2D fighting game player? yes.... Best at all games? not at all

Well if you knew anything at all about SF you would've been impressed.
He uses a character that is well known meaning the strats, set-ups and bullshit are well known. He's a character, that most, if not all top players are well acquainted with yet look how he manages to beast and make people look not as good as they're supposed to be.
Ryu just has really good options and Daigo knows how and when to utilize them. He isn't as easy to use as you make him out to be.
