Cops sprayed him twice with pepper spray, he still came at them with a knife. Honestly once you've run out of resources to fight back with as a policeman you would have to resort to bullets.

Tyle'rs mum can rest easy now that the police have been blamed. It was preventable, no doubt, if Tyler's mum had have done her job and kept Tyler under some control that night, then the police wouldn't have to pick up the slack of failed parents like they do day in, day out. Unless you have done a day in a policeman's shoes, you have no place to critisize. It is a sad ending to a shit situation. I can understand her guilt that someone else needed to be blamed.
