This is from Smiley's 2nd to last recording session. (Only 3 songs were recorded.) it is believe to be recorded at Cosimo's Studios for Dot Records. If this is true (The Cosimo's part), although none of the studio musicians are known, it's a good bet Allen Toussaint is on piano.

  • Hi 9th WardJukebox,

Smiley did the early 1960s Gene Thomas tune justice. Many years ago, I saw Smiley in person at a Hammond area place called Cave-Tangi, which I suspect has gone the way of many other places. Smiley, on this particular evening, was playing lead guitar for James Sugarboy Crawford. Both of these NOLA musical jewels did not disappoint the smoke packed room; the joint was jumping.
