Hello guys, had user requested video to show how to properly install and configure a virtual machine for Mac OSX. The process works similarly to installing a new operating system on a computer except using third party software such as VirtualBox or Vmware Fusion. In this tutorial I show you how to install and configure a virtual machine in VirtualBox because the software is free.
In order to install Windows however, you need a legitimate version that is purchased. VirtualBox is free software that allows you to install Windows side by side on a Mac,PC, or Linux. (Download link: http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads)

  • Also, it's better to used the Fixed space because if you use the dynamically allocated, it constantly fragments your drive and it's overall just better to throw 25-50 gigs towards your operating system than to do that.

  • @drunk0nappl3juic3 Thank you for the advice, It probably is better off in the long run... I need to allocate as much memory and cpu towards my Mac as possible.... It explains partially why it is slow.

  • My mac has 16 gigs of ram, can I set the virtual machine to run 8 or even 12 gigs of ram? Actually I'm already using VMware virutal machine and when I upgraded my mac's ram I was hoping to share 12 gigs of ram with my VMware, but it only let me share 8 and I'm not exactly sure if it recognized my additional ram input because when I go onto "System" on my VMware it says I only have 3 gigs of ram. Please tell me if I can share more ram with the VMware..

  • @HenrydeBeli You should be able to... Do you have the latest version of Vmware?

  • Mine says no bootable medium found and I did everything you did. Could you help?

  • @Hardy123Zhao yeah true and next year it won't be supported. But I'd rather not clue in anyone in.

  • Are you able to run Mac OS on a Windows machine? Say if I downloaded the .iso and ran it in VB? I hear you can't but I also hear you can?

  • @cloutierhaker Well It's prompting me to update it but I keep putting it off. Guess I will update it...

  • We should be able to run Mac on Windows :P
