  • Have a look at the date, dude. That vid is from 2007 and even at that time, the digital camera I used was already 2 years out of date.

  • At good conditions, what is the maximum altitude you get from a winch start?

  • Depends on how much runway you have. In Unterwössen (the airport in the video) you can get from 350 meters (normal start) up to 600 meters (enlonged runway). World record is something like 950 meters.

  • @b3nb3n2 : Nein, wusste ich nicht. Wir hatten in meiner Zeit bei der Dassu nur Kunststoffseile auf der Winde. Lediglich die alte Dieselwinde, die durch jede Sicherheitsprüfung fallen würde, hatte noch Stahlseile, aber die kam kaum noch zum Einsatz.

  • The new world record is by 1600 meters with a mdm fox

  • The record is now set in Germany as far as I know. It is about 1300 meters (enough for an aerobatics program).

    I think the runway was about 3km for this, and synthetic cables were used for reduced cable weight.
