A tutorial in four parts which shows you how to make snow in Unity3d. You'll need to watch them all in order for it to make complete sense.

A particle system for snow is first created followed by snowball collisions which produce splashes of snow on the terrain surface.

  • Is there any chance you could update the script for Unity3? I'm encounter errors using your code verbatim.

NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

    Boo.Lang.Runtime.RuntimeServices.InvokeBinaryOperator (System.String operatorName, System.Object lhs, System.Object rhs)

    particleHit.LateUpdate () (at Assets/particleHit.js:7)

  • Looks great but snowflakes don't splash in real life. Hail, yes, but not snow. They just land gently.

  • does that mean that your variable stores a copy of the value of the particleEmitter and not the reference?

  • you gest made know a lot more about making both 3D game, move and some other stuff that use 3D program and some on the programing part so ya thank you

ps you sound like you are getting angry at the end

  • Very good and helpful tutorial!

Does someone know where I can get threes, roads, cars, building etc in 3D to add to this editor? :)

  • You rock! You should make a tutorial on how to make fire.

  • Could you please share your project for my downloading? or send file to: spencergong at yahoo.com.

Thanks very much for your help.
