And we may not be the best town in the USA but we rely on hunting as a source of income for our town, and maybe Oprah should spen a little money and learn that there is no such thing as a .22 caliber shotgun shell. Look at the ground, theres empty shells every where. And im sure the rabbits and coyotes would rather stay in our hotels than stay outside and listen to her. I hope someone shows this comment to Oprah.

Ive seen this clip alot, im a life long Lamar resident and Ive never seen anyone act this way towards outsiders unless they deserved it. Our town isnt a rich town, its not a high class town and it doesnt need to be portrayed as it was by oprah, if she doesnt like our town she can take her "im so much better than you attitude" and get the hell out of our town.

@bac2basc continued....Where she spent the night is in a hotel- where fellow travelers stay, so any racist comments she may have heard could and most likely came from them, not locals. Had she taken even a simple second to visit or interact without her ego in her hand, she may have gotten a very different impression.

However, it is people like her and you that do not belong in rural America and should leave, never coming back.

OK so I live in Lamar, Colorado now and I do have to say this is a racist town. The funny thing is they do not even realize how racist they are. Do you know the high school mascot is a native american in stereotypical dress and called a savage. WTF really?? Does anyone not know how offensive that is? So I understand all these negative comments. They are so back country they do not know how to be politically correct.
