  • Wow...I'd never heard this before. This is great. I'd never seen the Dorothy Parker piece either. I hope she liked this.

  • Just because people are polyamorous doesn't mean they don't respect themselves. If people want to sleep around, it doesn't bother me nor does it detract from the talent of the likes of Tallulah and Marlene. I read most books about Tallulah and yes she did drink alot but she never let that get in the way of her acting. Even Lucy had to admit that Tallu was on point when filming formally started and we see that plainly enough in that episode.

  • I'm not sure about conventions. She would be judged a slut then as with now except by a small percentage of citizens who don't respect themselves let alone anyone else.

Lucille Ball almost slugged it out with her the one time she guested. She would show up late and drunk for rehearsal.

Brilliance is no excuse for arrogant malvolence.

According to a recent biographer, Jimmy Stewart got Dietrich pregnant during 'Destry' and she had an abortion.

  • sorry i meant remembered lol

  • Marlene Dietrich probably had a "slept with list" more illustrious than Tallulah as did Joan Crawford, so I'm not sure why any of that is relevant. I think they are all courageous for daring to break conventions of their day, thats part of the reason they are reminded all these years later!

  • talulah had a reputation in hollywood with "sleeping" with anyone whom she thought would do her good. she may have been talented and with a unique southern belle drawl, but she was tolerated more than anything else.

  • I enjoyed this. I am a big Groucho fan too. Well, not physically big. I love Dorothy Parker and Tallulah too. Everybody.
