LTTE child soldiers who had undergone rehabilitation are now afforded an opportunity to pursue their studies.
These children were rehabilitated at the Punthottam camp. 44 boys and 23 girls will hereafter study at the Hindu College in Ratmalana. Earlier, the Government directed 144 rehabilitated child soldiers to this College to continue their studies. Accordingly, 211 child soldiers who underwent rehabilitation under the guidance of the Uthuru Wasanthaya Task Force and on the instructions of the President have been directed to schools.
All requirements of these children including books, clothing and hostel facilities will be met by the Uthuru Wasanthaya Task Force.
