@rebelarouser Hi just took me back ages, I am from Small Shaw, Mum and Dad still there bottom of Rowley street, worked Ashton market as a lad, hiring out sheets and canopies for Eric Paterson, Gleaves`s broken biscuits, cedar mill next to Cedar park and red and black school, miss it sometimes, thanks Gary Mcmullen

Ashton might have been good then, apart from the slums, but I have only been there twice and the place is a dump and full of grafitti and other evidence of yob culture. Shaem I guess.

rebelarouser..just come across your video..loved it!! you didnt come from around hurst cross at all did you..thers a few snaps of the area...inc a great one of cross garage, alderley street etc....I was dragged up round there lol

@polly12334 Hiya yeah i really did live there at number 54 crossley crescent and then later on hurst hall drive just off palace road. I was a dj and did many a night in ashton when it used to be busy. x

In memorium to my mum who passed away on the 07/03/2010 peacefully. Bless you mother you were my rock and my idol. I will miss you so much no one can ever know. You will always be my queen. There's an extra star shining in the sky tonight. xxxxxxxxx

The next video i will be doing is of the Market Hall fire of Ashton which i was the only person who filmed it not long after it must have started. Also the construction of the temporary market hall to completion.
