In this video, we cover Windows XP Control Panel. Here are some the main topics we discuss: Using Appearance tab, change display settings for start menu, screen saver and resolution, switch between classic window and XP layout, change the folder options. For Network and Internet configuration, review properties of my Wireless network. An important feature in Control Panel is to add and remove programs including window components. Next we discuss the Performance and Maintenance tab.

To restore the Desktop tab: Open Group Policy Editor by typing "gpedit.msc" in the Open: line of Run on the Start Menu.

Group Policy Editor Navigate to User Configuration | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Windows Explorer In the right pane, double click on Turn On Classic Shell Set the radio button to Not Configured then click OK

  • @baghul no..idid all like u said but its still the same problem..:S

  • @4r7m1r I am sorry it did not solve the issue, If its a new computer, maybe call Microsoft Help desk or visit their MSDN site
