When I did this show in 2000, it was within about a year after "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" had taken over primetime on ABC. The producer for that show, a guy named Michael Davies, also created 2 Minute Drill for ESPN, and we met him briefly during the day that I was at the studio taping in New York. This was before the reality TV epidemic essentially killed off more traditional primetime game shows. Occasionally they show reruns of 2 Minute Drill on ESPN Classic late at night.
