As far as the small watchtowers are concerned, I believe the designers put them there for sheltering purposes in case you are being shot by every direction and don't know what to do, climb up one of the towers and since the guards have to come all the way up to the tower, you have all the time you want to kill them all. Or simply they put them there in case you use the all weapons and infinite ammo cheat so you can satisfy your killing lust since the guards in this level are innumerable. :)

I've actually found this one out since; they were put there for enemy snipers to use, but the AI can't fire over railings, so the snipers would only fire at you if you actually climbed the ladder.

My experience with the Grenade Launcher in this game would become somewhat useful when I would eventually play Starseige: Tribes two years later.

I think it's funny that in the room where you were blowing the motor-bike up everything you could have imagined blew up: books, tables, toy cars, wood crates. But not the grenade rounds, I laughed my ass off at that concept.
