More proof that the government will ruin the auto industry. Obama wants the company to be leaner and meaner? How many more jobs does he want to cut? How many more benefits shall retirees lose? How many more factories closed? I thought Obama supported unions and the American worker. This shows NOTHING to that effect.

Wagoner is a tool, no wonder the White House fired him. Consider the following:

*their Volt is still slave to a gasoline engine, has 1/4 of the range of the EV1 (without gas)

*They cannot use the NiMH battery technology that GM used to have a stake in, because they sold it to Texaco Oil.

*GM ignored the soaring oil prices and went on with 'business-as-usual" manufacturing gass-guzzlers, making GM lose 90% of its share price and $85M.

It all happened under his [lack of] leadership.
