A side by side comparison of iRacing's wonderful Watkins Glen road course (boot configuration) using an ingame lap and a real footage lap done by John Edwards of AIM Autosport during the June Star Mazda event. The purpose is to show how closely the laser scanning track building technique mirrors the real life track. This is most evident when looking at the trackside objects such as brake markers and trees.

@Pures2oo0 Forza et al (all other console games) cannot hold a candle to a real racing sim such as iracing.
Sure it's fun. But it's nothing like these real sims.

@talengtp my own opinion is that your wrong on that. look at where we have come in just the last 10 years.. we went from 0% accuracy to within 1/1000th of an inch in all places.. soon.... very soon....

The engine sound is from the real clip on the left, which came from the Star Mazda series website.

the only problem is the cars dont handle realistic only thing realistic is the tracks

It's not 100% perfect, no sim ever will be, but it's closer than anything else on the market. What are you basing this on?
