he's afreak - watch him play a very emotional "with a little help from my friends" on our channel!
-
how can you slow down the generator like he did at the end? When i shut down my hammond, the Leslie and Organamp shutting down as well.
-
I've been playing Hammond for 45 years. And sold B-3 when I was younger. I can honestly say that the new B-3's are a very pathetic imitation of the real thing. I'll still stick to my old tonewheels. I'd like to modernize, but Hammond doesn't have it together yet. the discriminating and true musician can certainly hear the difference.
-
but NEW new B3 is digital too...
-
20K! We sell completely restored B-3 in black satin with matching Leslie 122,bench,pedals,and cable for less.Road cases are available for these also.
-
well, the NEW new b3 is better i guess...
at least they got the look down better :P
now for the REAL tonewheels, none of this digital tonewheels stuff. and use the right amount, not more than the real b3 had...
-
Nothing will replace the old B3, but this one sounds pretty good. I'm sure it is a lot easier to load and unload! :)
-
Maikel,
rock the house

Ummmm..... No thanks. If Hammond REALLY wanted to impress somebody, they would re-release the old B3, tone wheels and all. They'd probably make millions of dollars in the process as well. The Wersi organ that I currently play has a better "B3" sound than this new Hammond. Until I can afford a decent B3, I'll keep playing what I have now.
-
the new b3 runs at about 20k
-
I was skeptical at first, but despite the "brightness" described by some (it might be superior speaker design) I would imagine reliability is much improved by being solid state.
Anyone know the price?
-
Not quite the same as the original, however...I feel that its a good thing that these have been developed and sound as good as they do because eventually, there will be no more originals left since tone generators and tone wheels are no longer produced anywhere
-
Is it just me, or was the ending the only part that was worth watching?
-
I agree with "cheesy" thing and it has NO HEART, a REAL Hammond does and its called a Tonewheel Generator. It is also too bright for a B3. They can put a man on the moon and do heart transplants but still cannot ever replicate tonewheels. Transistors are not and w3ill never replace valves.

C'ero anche io al DISMA!!! Peccato che han spostato la fiera a Milano...
-
damn feedback
-
sos mag says you cant tell the difference and i agree for tne most part but i do think its a little briter than the orgininal
-
nonsens, even my old father can hear it! Thonewheels are much warmer of sound, and authentic!
-
According to your profile you're a psychic... wouldn't that give you somewhat of an unfair advantage over most normal musicians? I mean if you can tell things about people by just reading their vibes... then naturally you would just KNOW whether or not the person is playing a real Hammond by reading them... and it would have nothing to do with music. Have you ever considered that?
-
indeed, it is fake :) And you can see and feel that! (if you have pianistic hands and eyes.... sorry, but I can hear it directly!!!!!! . Sorry that I have to dissapoint you... it is digital and you can hear that. That is the great difference between analoge and digital sound. Analoge is authentic. Digital is not..... and a real musician can hear dat immediantly...
its just you...

Michael is my friend but vibrato is still far away from the original. I did the world premier of the NewB3 Ultimo in Frankfurt 2005. The portable is still too heavy and expensive. After more than 35 years at the old consoles let me tell you something: Nothing can replace the original totally!
If you want a B3 portable, look for a good conversion of a old original B3/C3/A100 or one of this great sounding BV, CV, B2, C2 models with added percussion. It´s cheaper and sounds better. T.C. Pfeiler
