  • Well, as you might have learned since the second day, the hand signs are representative of the tonal tendencies of the scale degrees they represent. Do, Mi, and Sol are "stable" while Fa points down (as is its tendency in resolution) to Mi and Si (again, per its tendency to tonic/Do) points up. Re and La both suggest downward motion to the tonic and dominant, respectively.
