In the virtual world Second Life, sometimes you need a hole in a textured wall, to put in an actual door or working window, and that requires adding new prims and retexturing each one with a precise scale factor and offset so the final effect looks right. It takes about 20 minutes. The whole thing can be done in 1 minute with my new hole-making tool, that lets you drag, stretch, and use the menu to set the hole size, not try to figure out what (wall - hole)/2.7 or whatever is by hand.

  • worst video ever of such an important a good topic, this would require much more detail, ie actually saying what you're doing at any point in this video!

  • I usually take two prims... hollow them and cut them in half. Makes a nice frame and you can use shapes like cylinders as well to get the round top.
