  • Edmond Hall clarinet, Wild Bill cornet, George Brunis Trombone, Gene Schroeder piano, Eddie Condon Guitar, Bob Carey bass, George Wettling drums, on this track. Some tracks had Dave Tough and some tracks had Pee Wee Russell.." At the jazzband ball" was recorded November 1943 with the first seven musicians.

  • the photo was taken at Eddie Condon's Club which makes it at least 2 yrs.later than the recording.the drummer looks like Dave Tough.

  • Confirming. This is a Commodore recording, 1944. I have a copy. Gene(Sonny) has it right. The trombone is played by George Brunis.

  • The cut was recorded on Commodore not Blue Note in 1944. The cuts made in 1944 are the best Condon records ever!

  • @zerblis You cant compare fruit, but something about Edmond's swing man....

  • @after6ty

PeeWee or Edmond, I can't complain!

  • @condonicks

Damn, You gotta be older than me.

    Great music!!!

  • The pianist is Gene Schroeder, not Joe Sullivan.

  • The photo shows the actual players, Ed Hall, not Pee Wee. Also the trombone in picture is Cutty Cuttshall but the audio is that of George Brunis. Was a regular attendee at W. 3rd St. Condon's, his first.store. Would welcome any interested contacts.or questions ...........Gene (Sonny)
