Seeing the arena now makes my heart ache so much. There are so many memories there: concerts, games, shows and even skating. I can't believe it's almost gone.

I got really emotional watching this video... can't control the tears from falling... its just so sad that something historical like the igloo, which was a home for thousands of people for years would disappear so easily... :(

It is a real shame this historical buidling will be turned into scrap metal and a parking lot because it is old and not used anymore plus this Pittsburgh historical society lost its bid to make it a historical landmark. RIP civic arena you had many great memories. Never raised a Stanley Cup in the burgh but many many happy memories.

question...why didnt they show crosby lifting the cup in this video if it was released in 09-10? they even showed him with the prince of wales trophy i believe

Sadly its time has come... Demolition started on Sept. 26. It won't be traditionaly demolished though. It will be disassembled over time. It's supposed to be done in May of 2012
