Its because she wanted to get a real recomendation letter from him so she knew he was aware of, and appreciated the job she did.Him offering to sign whatever she wrote was a way of buying her off, instead of showing he really had appreciation for her work.

1:50 "what?"

Allison reminds me of a young Diane Keaton in her acting

Poor Alison. Just wanted Don to acknowledge her. Sigh.
Peggy's head popping up over the divider makes the whole scene.

Haha, he should've written the letter. "She's tight, and she's white, and she fucks all night".

@MyMojosSoDope I feel like most men would, but not most women. I know a lot of girls like this. Telling someone to write their own letter is like giving someone a gift card; it's nice, but it's lacking any sort of personal connection. She wanted Don to write it because she wants Don to write about how great she is, to show that Allison and Don had a personal connecion when they really didn't but only Don is adult enough to accept that.

@MyMojosSoDope I guess she wanted him to praise her a bit, even through a recommendation letter

And I don't understand why she got so upset at Don telling her she could write her own letter of recommendation. Most people would love it if their boss told them to write whatever they wanted, and they'd sign off on it.

Allison acted so immaturely in this episode. Yes, Don was a little cold towards her, but that didn't give her the right to throw things and carry on like that in a place of business. Thats not how mature adults behave. I agree with Peggy telling her off, she was acting like a child.

Atta Boy Don, hitting the bottle immediately after a mildly stressful situation. Plus, his favorite brand of whiskey seems to be Canadian Club, my dear departed father's favorite. Another reason to like Don.
