Amtrak's Cardinal runs through Lowell about 45 mins late. Whats so special about this video, Nothing?? WRONG, FINALLY Amtrak's Cardinal is now running a bag car on board after about 5+ years without one. Now if we can get a Cafe Car on the Hoosier State we would be set. Nice K5LA!! P-42 130

  • Well look at that! The Cardinal almost looks like a real long distance train. If only it ran daily...

  • @bcanedy funny u say that. That is in the making right now. There is a possibility and likely this will happen very soon. The Cardinal will start running daily. :)

  • @amtrk128 I can't wait for it to start running daily. I love riding the train.

  • @jpsmith81 Well the current word is now that the daily Cardinal deal is probably not going to happen now. Amtrak has spent to much money on other things already. Thanks for watching :)

  • @CSXKid5016 no, IDK were you heard that. Amtrak has to make a certain amount of money with the cafe service in a period of time, and what ever money is left over that they didnt make to meet their standards, the State pays the rest. So when you see food service cars on Illinois service or Michigan service trains, whatever money they didnt make to meet their required income, the State covers the rest of what was not made for Amtrak, and the State of Indiana doesn't want to do that.

  • @amtrk128 I've heard they have added a cafe car to the Hoosier State?

  • @amtrk128 I've heard the same. I think they're trying to figure out if it's more efficient to run the train more often (daily) or if it's better to offer more coach and sleeper space on the existing schedule. Either way that train won't survive in it's current form. Amtrak can do better and they know it.

  • @JgordonAmtrak1 ha yep thanks
