There are far too many tragic stories of what happens when we fail to study these texts. Mark B. was a young man who accepted his sexual orientation "until he became a Christian" and was told on the basis of these texts that he couldn't be both a Christian and a gay man. Mark committed suicide and wrote this suicide note to God: "I just don't know how else to fix this." Mary Lou Wallner, one of our most faithful Soulforce volunteers, was led by these texts to condemn her lesbian daughter, Anna, who hanged herself. Mary Lou now says, "If I can steer just one person away from the pain and anguish I've been living, then maybe Anna's death will have meaning."

the Bible accepts sexual practices that we condemn and condemns sexual practices that we accept. Lots of them! Here are a few examples.

DEUTERONOMY 22:13-21
If it is discovered that a bride is not a virgin, the Bible demands that she be executed by stoning immediately.
DEUTERONOMY 22:22
If a married person has sex with someone else's husband or wife, the Bible commands that both adulterers be stoned to death.
MARK 10:1-12
Divorce is strictly forbidden in both Testaments, as is remarriage of anyone who has been divorced.
LEVITICUS 18:19
The Bible forbids a married couple from having sexual intercourse during a woman's period. If they disobey, both shall be executed.
MARK 12:18-27
If a man dies childless, his widow is ordered by biblical law to have intercourse with each of his brothers in turn until she bears her deceased husband a male heir.
DEUTERONOMY 25:11-12
If a man gets into a fight with another man and his wife seeks to rescue her husband by grabbing the enemy's genitals, her hand shall be cut off and no pity shall be shown her.

I'm certain you don't agree with these teachings from the Bible about sex. And you shouldn't.

Leviticus 18:6 reads: "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female. It is an abomination." A similar verse occurs two chapters later, in Leviticus 20:13: "A man who sleeps with another man is an abomination and should be executed." On the surface, these words could leave you feeling rather uneasy, especially if you are gay. But just below the surface is the deeper truth about God -- and it has nothing to do with sex.

Leviticus is a holiness code written 3,000 years ago. This code includes many of the outdated sexual laws and a lot more. It also includes prohibitions against round haircuts, tattoos, working on the Sabbath, wearing garments of mixed fabrics, eating pork or shellfish, getting your fortune told, and even playing with the skin of a pig. (There goes football!)

So what's a holiness code? It's a list of behaviors that people of faith find offensive in a certain place and time. In this case, the code was written for priests only, and its primary intent was to set the priests of Israel over and against priests of other cultures.

Jesus and Paul both said the holiness code in Leviticus does not pertain to Christian believers. Nevertheless, there are still people who pull the two verses about men sleeping together from this ancient holiness code to say that the Bible seems to condemn homosexuality.

I don't believe that god would create anyone to send them to hell. God loves us unconditionally and he knows we are not perfect people, so why would he want to see us suffer for eternity?

i like to look at the videos of people that has died and went to hell and then heaven like near death experiences well i wonder if there was a lesbian woman that's died and went to hell and heaven can somebody help me find a video on that because if your gay or lez and had a near death exp and witnessed that you are trully lucky because you would had the opportunity to ask god any question you want more so the most important the question about one's sexuality...

I know the body is nothing but a flesh bag thiswhat buddha taught...but if murder is wrong then killing babies . I already heard about howard storm and I will suggest you check out Mellen Thomas Benedict..I hve studied NDE alot and it shows that the real god does not care about religion or sexuality. christians have been to hell and left christianity after nde and believe in reincarnation now.

See, the thing is, we're in the confines of our mind and cannot fathom what Heaven is like. All we know about death is that our physical bodies rot. THIS is why you see God killing babies as a bad thing. If only you knew the truth, you wouldn't see it as such a bad thing. God's ways aren't always comforting to US, because we don't know everything that is involved. I suggest checking out a man by the name of Howard Storm.

you lack reading comprehension. 1sam 15:1-3 god sent men to kill babies ..there is several places where god did this. where is the scripture that says those MURDERED babies went to heaven? I guess killing ur kid is a good thing now so they wont sin? "woe to those that call evil good" =YOU.
