Raw Vegan Banana Bread Biscuits...yum. Made with simple ingredients and once they are out of the dehydrator, taste like mini banana bread muffins. Very tasty! Even better with fresh jam!

The finished biscuits last only a few days, the more dry they are the longer they last. Once dried, they can be kept in the fridge. Just warm them up in the dehydrator before eating....they taste better warm :)

This recipe requires:

*A dehydrator set at 104. If you do not have a dehydrator, you can set your oven to the lowest temp and just keep the door open until they are dried enough.

*A food processor

*Mesh dehydrator sheets or a cookie sheet if using your oven.

*The recipe ingredients (duh, lol)

*Lots of love and a smile :)

* Ohh and maybe raw fruit jam... {{grin}}

Before I get to the recipe, let me say....this video took me forever to make. Had craaazy problems with my flip and editing tools lately. Also, I am completely outa breath in the vid, haha....was running around like a fool before sitting down to make it. {{pant pant}}

Soo now, on to the recipe.....

**RECIPE**

~Banana Bread Biscuits~

2 cups dry raw cashews
1/4 tsp salt
2 ripe bananas
1 to 1 1/4 tsp vanilla extract or add some real vanilla bean.
1/2 cups dry raw pecans

(Opt. tweaks: maybe a little cinnamon?..or a a walnut half on top of each biscuit?...Mmm)

Combine the cashews and salt in a food processor. Blend until a small crumbled texture. Add bananas and vanilla, blend until well blended. Add pecans and pulse to mix.

Drop a little over a TBS, (I use a small ice cream scooper) of batter onto mesh dehydrator sheets (or cookie sheet if using oven). Dehydrate at 104 degrees, until well dried, I dried mine overnight.

Eat as is or serve with fresh fruit jam. YUM!

**HAPPY AND HEALTHY EATING!**

  • Hi you say i could leave my oven open to dehydrate them as i dont have a dehydrator, how long to leave the oven for, or can i close the oven it and put it on very low?, also can you give me the proportion to this banana biscuit recipe?/ thanks

  • @CamilleVendryes Hi :) If you dont have a dehydrator you may turn your oven on its lowest setting and leave the door slightly open, kinda like if you were going to use the broiler. You may then put any of your yummies that you want to dehydrate on a cookie sheet and let them slowly dry out. There is no strict rules to this. Basically you want the biscuit to be dry to the touch and slightly warm. Perhaps an hour or so. Keep checkin :) Remember the thought is to dehydrate, dont worry to much :)

  • gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous looking

  • @mohtadi52 Thank you :)

  • According to 80/10/10, it's bad to combine fruit with fats (nuts & seeds), because it will cause spikes in blood sugar levels and therefore, insulin resistance.

  • @urbanrootz , I am not familiar with 80/10/10. However, I do usually like to eat fruit on its own, but don't mind a little treat such as this here and there. Thank you for your input, it is always nice to hear different points of view. I will gladly check out 80/10/10. :)

  • @CamilleVendryes also, if you're new to raw, but have a thermometer(and want to make it as raw as possible) you can set it to beep when it gets too hot in there and you can open the door more.
