David vs. Golaith in a test of true power it got the job done. Interesting note here is the 1972 Ford has done all of the heavy work when it comes to our remodels, but with the 72 on leave the 2001 steped up to the challenge and passed as our new work truck!

  • Can a dodge ram 1500 with a 4.7 V8 haul that? Or would I need a 5.7L V8?

  • @FromThe3PointLine It should be able to haul that with a moderate load not fully loaded especially if you were gonna go over a mountain pass or something.

  • Back up a semi bud. lol That sux lol(backing up the semi)

  • @HolyShize Thats in my bucket list I'd love to give it a try!

  • I have a Toyota Tundra with a 4.7L but its a v8 and i've pulled stuff WAY bigger than that with out even trying

  • @BigZ636 key word in your comment 4.7 v8 this is a 4.2 v-6 (big difference) that has towed this trailer twice now. Yes your 4.7 can probably tow this and pull out stumps in the process but when a 4.2 liter v-6 does what a cummins turbo diesel pulls in terms of pulling I think its more spectacular!

  • @FromThe3PointLine it'll do it

  • my ford escort could do that

  • @1972FordF100 no its going to be highway only

  • goto 2:05 to the trailer

  • @HolyShize backing up a tractor trailor isnt hard at all, it takes forever and the trailer dosent get away from you, just use your mirrors and you will be fine.

  • i work for a lawn company and my boss tows a 12 foot trailer with a regular cab longbed 4.2 auto, puts a strain on it since it's an auto, another guy has the same truck but a 5spd and it does a lot better, throw an intake and exhaust on it, that helps a lot

also the dump trailer in the vid, me and a buddy towed one that size in a 3.7 Jeep Liberty auto, strained a lot as well, V6's are able to tow but they'll give out quick from abuse, especially if it's not a V8 derrived engine
