Note: This is, in many ways, a second part to my original tutorial: Easy Acoustic Seven Nation Army (Campfire Playable).

After some requests, I've gone ahead and created this tutorial to detail the strumming pattern I use for my Campfire Version of "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes. I'll be posting a full cover in the next few weeks, too.

Basic Song Structure:
Verse Riff
Build to Instrumental Chorus: G-A
Instrumental Chorus (x2):
E-E-G-E-C-B
E-E-G-E-C (lift and replace middle finger)-B
Build Up Back to Verse Riff: G-A
Verse Riff.

  • I really like your tutorials (have also been working on learning the Firefly theme song thanks to you), but have a quick question: I've been struggling to figure out what you're fretting for your B chord. When I play a standard B bar chord (bar the second fret, strings 2,3,4 are fretted on the 4th fret) it doesn't sound right. I think you say a B power chord at one point, but I cannot figure out how that is fretted and which strings you play. Hope you can help..

  • That B chord is actually a Power B Chord (X244XX). Cheers! :)

  • I am aware that this is probably a really dumb question, but what type of guitar is that? It just looks really small for some reason.

  • It's a Fender DG24-MA (mahogany). Yeah, it's a normal-size guitar. Maybe I'm just huge. ?? ;)

  • I think that's really cool that instead of the D you just lift the finger on the C so beginners like me who are slow at chords can still do this. And I love any video with a dog in the background.

  • Thanks. Glad you can get some use out of it. My dogs are so lazy...but it guess beats them jumping all over in the background... :)
