In case anyone wants to know this is "Someone To Watch Over Me" by George Gershwin with lyrics by Ira Gershwin from the musical Oh, Kay!
I sure wish he hadn't held down the sustain peddle though it all. Maybe it's the recording, but it sure sounds to me like he just held it down and never let up.
beautiful playing of these golden era popular music classics, on all your piano demonstration videos.
Let down by poor recording sound quality, which is a shame as it would be nice to hear properly some of these pianos, such as this one and the 1891 Steinway C, (ie the better ones)
There is NOTHING like a Mason & Hamlin piano. The larger ones are incredible, but the small ones are quite unbelievable for their size. The 5'4" sounds like 5'8", the 5'8" sounds like the 6'3" and so on and so on. The larger soundboard, careful scaling and hand craftsmanship are the obvious reasons. I'm happy to know that this incredible instrument will continue to be made for another generation to thrill over.
This player really should be known too the whole nation as was Roger Williams was, I think his playing is so much better....

Think of what it would be like to go there and hear these great instruments live. That's the only way to really get to know them.
